Who we are

Lamorinda Chorus had its inaugural season in 2024, established in part by the Lamorinda Community Band (lamorindaband.org) and Choral Artistic Director and Pianist, Ray Capiral. Weekly chorus rehearsals throughout each semester (Fall, Winter) provide a welcoming place for Members of all backgrounds and ages to experience community building, musicianship training, choral singing, and opportunities for performance and outreach under the baton of Mr. Capiral!

Lamorinda Chorus follows an established calendar of rehearsals and concerts, but we always welcome prospective Members to sit in on a rehearsal, and late joiners are always welcomed! Please scroll down to “Contact us” to send a message to Ray Capiral for additional information or to schedule a free, one-on-one informational session!

Sign ups are always open

New enrollments are welcomed year-round!

SUMMER SESSION

Tuesdays, 23 June through 11 August, 2026

Looking for a fun summertime activity? Join Lamorinda Chorus’ new offering: Summer Session! No prior experience required—just a spirit of curiosity and desire to sing! The summer session is different than Fall/Spring sessions in a few ways:

  1. Short-term goals, including note reading, music theory, musicianship (choral singing & ensemble training) are the focus.

  2. Enrollees are welcome to treat Summer Session as a “drop-in” activity. That is, weekly attendance, though encouraged, is optional. Flying off on holiday? Got another camp/event and can’t make it every week? NO PROBLEM! With a flexible curriculum and a wide range of activities on offer, this is a wonderful place to “try us out” and see if joining the performance ensembles (Fall & Spring sessions) is a good fit for you!

  3. ALL AGES are welcomed, and no prior experience is required. Mr. Capiral offers training to piano students and/or professional pianists seeking to “level up” as choral accompanists, so even if singing isn’t your thing, there are other opportunities available. Please contact the Artistic Director, Ray Capiral, for more information! (rcapiral@lamorindachorus.org)
